Dear Santa,
Our names are Trevor, Greg, Mark and Darren.
We have been very good this year. Well, quite good, anyway. We helped Australia get to No.1 in the world and then we thought some other boys might want a turn, so we shared it with India and Pakistan.
We are very good at sharing. We have played 10 Tests this year and we have let 23 Australian boys play in them. That's really, really good sharing.
Because we have been so good, for Christmas this year we want an allrounder.
It doesn't have to be a fancy one.
But we really, really want one.
Please not one like Shane Watson, though. He kept breaking and every time we had to stick him together again with sticky tape. It was very messy.
And please not one like Mitchell Marsh. When Mark was little, he had one called Steve Waugh that he used to play with all the time. We thought Mitchell Marsh might be like that, but he wasn't. We could never get him to do what the box said he could do. It was very disappointing.
There used to be one called James Hopes, but we think they've stopped making him. It is a shame, because we never really got to play with him properly.
We have one called Moises Henriques, but we had to send him back to the shop for repairs. Maybe we can play with him next year some time.
There are some boys from England who have one called Ben Stokes. I wish we had him. Can you find us one a bit like that?
We have heard of one called Hilton Cartwright. We don't know much about him but we like surprises. Please can we have him?
And anyway, if he is no good, we can always get another one next Christmas. There are some others called Marcus Stoinis and Jack Wildermuth that might be okay too.
We know you can do it, Santa.
We believe in allrounders and we believe in you too.
From your pals,
Trevor, Greg, Mark and Darren
PS: Actually, Santa, can you bat and bowl? And are you busy on December 26th?
