Derbyshire penalty upheld

An Appeal Panel met today at Derbyshire County Cricket Club to consider the appeal by the club against the deduction of 8 points in respect of the decision that the pitch used for the PPP healthcare Championship match at Derby on 7th-10th June against Surrey had been rated "poor" by the Pitch Panel.

The Appeal Panel comprised Chairman, Alan Moss (Member of ECB Discipline Standing Committee), Mike Hurst and John Jameson (Members of ECB Pitches Advisory Group).

The unanimous decision of the Appeal Panel was that the penalty of an 8 point deduction will stand. No financial penalty in respect of costs was applied.
