Durham's supporters are being invited to bring their swimming costumes to the Riverside this Saturday as the club joins the worldwide cricket carnival.
Regardless of the weather the club will be upping the temperature for the one day game between the Durham Dynamos and Surrey Lions with a special party corner set up in the ground. It will include a hot-tub for the over 18's who bring their swimming trunks and bikinis as well as music at appropriate times.
It's all part of Durham's warm up for the two one-day internationals in July which sees the West Indies, the original Calypso cricketers, taking on England and Zimbabwe.
Sue Newton, Durham's Director of Marketing, says: "Major test grounds across the world all have their own unique atmosphere such as the Sydney Bank in Australia or the Mound Stand in the West Indies.
"We are designating one part of the Riverside as our own party zone and we'll be specially encouraging the 18's to 30's to let their hair down and take the plunge in the hot tub."
The tub is being provided by Northumbria Pools and Spas of Ponteland and it's hoped it will become a regular feature of one day games at the Riverside.
Surrey themselves will prove a major attraction for cricket fans with Graham Thorpe, Alex Stewart, Alex Tudor, Mark Butcher and the Hollioake brothers in their line up. The game will be televised live on Sky Sports.
