The Chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Lord MacLaurin, today
welcomed the ICC's decision to call a summit meeting at Lord's on May 2nd and 3rd to discuss match-fixing.
The Chairman said: "I am sure that everyone who cares about cricket will be pleased that the ICC has acted promptly and decisively in calling this
emergency meeting.
"I firmly believe that we need an urgent get-together of all the Test-playing countries to address the issues involved and take steps to restore people's faith in the game.
"Cricket is rightly proud of its tradition of fair play and we must do
everything we can to ensure that 'match-fixing' is stamped out and players
found guilty of cheating are severely punished."
