Primarily the hip flexion exercise on the swiss ball or also known as the Jack Knife focuses on core stability and control of the movement. There is a shoulder/scapula stability component that also plays a role in executing the movement correctly. One of many exercises that you can perform on a swiss ball that can help you develop functional strength & stability. With all stability exercises control over the movement must be your first goal. It is a way to monitor yourself and to ensure that you activate the right muscles to complete the movement. If you lose control of the movement you might be going too fast, so slow down the speed of the movement.
