The West Indies Cricket Board is pleased to advise that the first Test Match in the Cable & Wireless 2000 Series between West Indies and Pakistan, will go ahead as scheduled at the Bourda Ground in Georgetown, Guyana, May 5th - 9th.
After monitoring the weather over Georgetown for the past few days, and having been advised of the improvement by the G.C.B., the Board is satisfied that the game can proceed as planned.
President of the Guyana Cricket Board, Chetram Singh says that his executive and the ground staff at G.C.C. have been working overtime to make sure that the pitch and outfield at Bourda will be in pristine condition, and he remains confident of hosting yet another successful Test match at Bourda.
