Former India women cricketer Sreerupa Bose dies aged 66

The seam-bowling allrounder played two ODIs for India women in 1985, conceding only 35 runs in 13 overs

Sreerupa Bose, the former India women's international, has died aged 66, following a cardiac arrest.
Bose represented the country in two ODIs against New Zealand women in 1985. She went wicketless, but conceded just 35 runs off 13 overs.
After her playing days with Bengal, Bose, a medium pace-bowling allrounder, was in charge as head coach of the national team at the 1993, 1997 and 2000 World Cups.
After her coaching career, she was chairperson of the Women's Cricket Association of India's selection committee, and continued to play a key role in women's cricket affairs after WCAI merged with BCCI in 2006.
She is survived by her husband Pareshnath Mukherjee, the former Bengal Olympic Association president, and daughter, Amrita Mukherjee, who is a tennis player.
