Grant Flower fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

Zimbabwe all rounder Grant Flower has been fined and warned of his future conduct, after being found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Zimbabwe v Pakistan One Day International in Harare on November 27

Zimbabwe all rounder Grant Flower has been fined and warned of his future conduct, after being found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Zimbabwe v Pakistan One Day International in Harare on November 27.
Flower was reported by Zimbabwe umpire Kevan Barbour to ICC Match Referee Clive Lloyd, on two counts of using obscene language and gesturing towards the pavilion in an aggressive manner. This followed his dismissal of Pakistan batsman Taufeeq Umer, in the 30th over of the Pakistan innings.
At a post-match hearing conducted by Clive Lloyd, Flower pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined 50% of his match fee and given a severe warning regarding his future conduct.
The two breaches fall within Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which states:
Level 1
1.4: using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and /or the making of an obscene gesture
1.6: pointing or gesturing towards the pavilion in an aggressive manner by a bowler or other member of the fielding side upon the dismissal of a batsman
There are four Levels of offences under the new Code of Conduct, introduced in April this year, each with a set range of penalties that can be imposed by the ICC Match Referee.
