Hampshire take 13 north to Chester-le-Street for the two final away fixtures of the 2000 season.
On Tuesday, Hampshire meet Durham (4:10pm) in a televised Norwich Union National League match, and this is followed by a PPP healthcare County Championship game starting on Thursday 31st August.
Derek Kenway is still missing following a recurance of the shin injury, but Peter Hartley has recovered from the hamstring problem that has kept him out since the Nat-West semi-final at Edgbaston, but will not be risked for Tuesday's game in an effort to play him on Thursday. He will undergo a rigorous training and bowling session before the floodlit match on Tuesday.
Zac Morris has been added to the squad as cover, and may play if Hartley does not reach full fitness in time or the Riverside wicket is not condusive to spin, in which case Morris will play in place of Shaun Udal.
