HD Ackerman to move to Grace Road

HD Ackerman of the Lions has announced that he will be leaving them to play for Leicestershire in the county championship next season. He has been offered a three-year contract, and will be released by the Lions on March 31 2005.

His contract with the Lions was until April 20 2006, but the franchise has agreed to release him, and both parties stressed that the move had nothing to do with captaincy issues. Ackerman has not ruled out a return to the Lions at some point in the future.
