Middlesex have signed Tyron Henderson, the South Africa allrounder, as a replacement for Chaminda Vaas who is committed to Sri Lanka's series against Bangladesh, later this month.
Henderson was part of the Highveld Lions side that won the Standard Bank Pro20 in South Africa earlier this year.
"He's a right arm fast opening bowler who hits the ball a county mile according to first XI coach Richard Pybus," Vinny Codrington, the Middlesex chief executive said, "and his signature maximises our opportunity to win our very tough group and go further than we have before in the Twenty20 competition."
Henderson represented Kent last season - taking 5 for 28 in a Twenty20 - and will deputise for Vaas at Middlesex until mid-July.
