Hyderabad defeated Andhra Pradesh by seven wickets in the South Zone
Ranji One Day tournament at the Guru Nanak College ground on Tuesday.
The match was reduced to 25 overs due wet ground conditions. Hyderabad
Skipper VVS Laxman won the toss and put Andhra in to bat. Opener Amit
Pathak played a swash buckling innings of 68 off 62 deliveries with
six hits to the fence. Shahabuddin (33) and KSV Prasad (21) chipped in
with useful contributions. Shahabuddin had two boundaries and two
massive sixes to his credit. Andhra made a healthy 150 for five off 25
overs.
In reply, openers Daneil Manohar (58) and M Srinivas (18) put on a 43
run partnership off 6 overs. Skipper VVS Laxman chipped in with 43 off
47 balls. Parth Satwalkar played a swash buckling innings hitting 24
runs off 12 deliveries. Hyderabad reached the target in the 24th over
and earned two points.
