India will be expected to continue on their winning way when they come up against the Netherlands at Lincoln Green tomorrow on the fourth day of the CricInfo Women's World Cup.
India scored a comprehensive win over South Africa in their first match of the tournament on Thursday, demonstrating an all-round ability with bat and ball. The Netherlands, on the other hand, came face to face with World Cup life in the form of England. The consolation they could take from their 142-run loss was managing to bat through their 50 overs.
The Indian spin attack will certainly test the Netherlands defensive ability. The most interesting feature of the match is likely to be how a new pitch will play, the match being the first of the tournament on Lincoln Green, adjacent to the BIL Oval.
India may have been wary about how they would perform at this tournament, being short of major international competition. However, their eight wicket defeat of South Africa, one of their major rivals in the competition, will have given them confidence. Certainly, they should win this one.
