Injured Kirsten may miss Bangladesh tournament.
Bob Dubery
Gary Kirsten, a bulwark of the South African batting line-up, may
miss the imminent Wills International Trophy tournament in
Bangladesh because of a finger injury.
Kirsten broke a finger during Western Province's opening
Standard Bank League match in Fochville on Friday night.
The selectors have said that Kirsten will be given "every
chance" to prove his fitness prior to the tournament in
Bangladesh, but , remarked selection chief Peter Pollock,
"replacements are in the wings".
No potential replacements have been named, but Andrew Hudson,
Herschelle Gibbs and Mike Rindel would probably be on the
selectorial short list.
