Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of the first Test against England at Nagpur on March 1 because of a hamstring strain he sustained in the final ODI against Pakistan at Karachi.
Yuvraj suffered the injury during a matchwinning 107 that led India to a 4-1 series win. He had scored a hundred in the third Test at the same venue and was adjudged player of the one-day series after aggregating 344 runs at an average of 172.
Harbhajan Singh, who missed the one-day series against Pakistan because of a finger injury, will be available for selection. Niranjan Shah, the Indian board secretary, said that a decision on Virender Sehwag's fitness would be taken tomorrow. A shoulder injury caused Sehwag to return home after the first two ODIs of the Pakistan series.
