Karnataka's first two day game in Colombo was very nearly ruined by the heavy rains that have drenched the capital in the last 48 hours. However the tropical sun ensured that 66 overs were bowled in the day. In that time Karnataka, who had won the toss and elected to bat, were bowled out for 237 by a Sri Lankan Combined Schools Side.
The visitors started their innings in a confident fashion, putting on 35 for th first wicket. However this signalled the start of a collapse as they slumped to Amith Kumar (85) came to the rescue of his side with a fine 85 with support from Darashan (25) and Hajeri (20).
Having fought back to the relatively strong position of 209-6 Sri Lankan Schools fought back thanks to a fine spell of bowling by Livera who finished the innings with 5-53 from 19 overs. They were eventually
bowled out for 237.
