Mishra takes 8 as Be'er Sheva move top with win over U19's

Harinder Mishra returned the remarkable figures of 8 for 50 as Be'er Sheva moved top of Division 1 with a 4-wicket win over Israel U19. In Division 2, Ra'anana 2 were unable to make it four wins out of four, crashing to a 222-run defeat to Kiryat Gat, whilst Lions Be'er Sheva won a nail-biter against Eilat, reaching their target of 200 with 2 wickets and just one ball in hand.

Batting first in Be'er Sheva on Saturday, both Safania Nagavkar (53) and Itamar Kehimkar (45) played well for Israel U19 at the top of the order, but a combination of a remarkable spell of bowling by Hirendar, and batsman gifting away their wickets by hitting the ball in the air, saw the youngsters collapse to 180 all out. Be'er Sheva, who have been in good form this season and are yet to be beaten, reached their target for the loss of six wickets, despite Herschel Gutman following up his century in his last match with four for 34 with the ball in this game.

In Division 2, Ra'anana 2 would have been brimming with confidence as they prepared to play Kiryat Gat away on Friday, having had a perfect start to the season winning their first three games. However they came crashing down to earth with a bump, as Kiryat Gat amassed 322/9 declared, before dismissing their visitors for just 100.

In the closest game of the season so far, Eilat batted out their 45 overs in reaching 199/8 against Lions Be'er Sheva in Eilat on Saturday. Sunny Ashtamkar led the Lions chace but three wickets for Avner Dighorkar kept Eilat in the game, but with just one ball in the match remaining, the visitors reached their target to complete a dramatic win.
