New South Wales penalised for slow over rates

Cricket Australia today announced that the SpeedBlitz Blues have been penalised one (1) point for slow over rates during its recent Pura Cup match against the Victorian Bushrangers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The New South Wales (NSW) team was found to be two overs behind the required over rate at the conclusion of the match. This infringement incurs a penalty of 0.5 points for each over behind the required rate, and has resulted in the NSW team's total points being reduced from 8.0 to 7.0 on the Pura Cup ladder.

In assessing the Blues' over rate, match officials made allowances for several interruptions to play, and regularly kept the NSW team updated on their over rate.

Once all these factors were considered, it was found that the NSW team still fell two overs behind the required rate.
