New Zealand v West Indies 1999-2000

At Christchurch, January 11 (day/night)

15-Apr-2001
At Christchurch, January 11 (day/night). New Zealand won by 20 runs. Toss: New Zealand.
New Zealand achieved a 5-0 whitewash thanks to some superb batting against inconsistent bowling on a good pitch. It was the first time they had scored 300 against West Indies in a one-day international. This time, the chief aggressor in another record-breaking stand, 170 at more than a run a ball, was Twose rather than Astle, who hit his fourth fifty of the series. Twose faced only 90 balls for his 97, a personal best in international cricket. West Indies raced to 100 for two in 15 overs, but when Lara holed out to long-on at 111, their chances were all but scuppered. Campbell struck a brisk 71 to entertain a crowd of 12,200.
Man of the Match: R. G. Twose.
