Johnson bounces Dhawan
Mitchell Johnson went for a few again, but he took the key wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Ravi Bopara. The Dhawan dismissal was typical Johnson and typical Dhawan. The batsman likes the pull, but it has also consumed him often in the past. Johnson bowled it short and fast, aiming it at Dhawan, angling it in around off stump. Dhawan instinctively went for the pull, but he was beaten by the pace and bounce, and top-edged the ball onto helmet from where it went to slip.
Warner's push-four
David Warner laced boundary after boundary through the off side, but this one off Johnson was incredible. Warner was looking to make room outside leg again to go through extra cover but Johnson had angled this in. Just as it seemed that the ball was about to sneak past a cramped Warner into the stumps, he suddenly extended his arms far in front to play an awkward push. The ball sped between the non-striker and mid-on for four.
Offspinner Vijay, take II
This was so rare an event it was occurring only for the second time in 82 games. For his first five seasons in the IPL, M Vijay was all about the pick-up shot over midwicket. Last year, then Delhi Daredevils captain Dinesh Karthik handed him the ball for an over of costly offspin against his old franchise Chennai Super Kings. This evening, George Bailey went two steps further, utilizing Vijay for as many as three steady overs, which went for just 16.
Henriques scoops out
Batsmen attempting the scoop to fine leg in T20s is not uncommon, especially at the death. But Moises Henriques managed to bowl himself off the shot in the last over of Sunrisers Hyderabad's innings. He also lost his balance and fell on to the pitch. Just before that, he walked across outside off and inside-edged a Sandeep Sharma full toss onto his stumps.
