Gibson rues replacement players not grabbing their chances
While injuries have left West Indies' squad quite depleted on their ongoing tour of New Zealand, coach Ottis Gibson puts the poor results mostly down to second-string players not grabbing the opportunities given to them

'An efficient win' - McCullum
On the team's performance in Nelson: It was an efficient win. Any time your top four batters make majority of the runs, it is a good sign. We wanted to get to around that 260-run mark. Credit to our batters to get us to 285, which was an above-par score and then to our bowlers, who took early wickets and set us up well before the rain came. The bowlers, specially the spinners were brilliant. They got through their overs quickly, setting us up well when the rain came.
On the pitch at the Saxton Oval: The wicket felt a lot tougher than 280. Obviously Martin [Guptill] struggled early on, but he hung in there and we were able to bat around him. The wicket had a bit of two-paced nature with a tennis-ball bounce that stayed throughout. They bowled pretty well, today. You don't want every wicket you play on to be a 340-wicket, but the way we batted today was brilliant.
On West Indies: They're obviously struggling at the moment. We know what it's like when you're coming to the end of a long tour and things are going against you in terms of injuries and performances. But they are a dangerous team, they've got plenty of flair and they're a very proud team, as well. It wouldn't surprise me if they turn in their best performance in the next game.
