Pakistan 2003-04 domestic structure meeting

Media Release: PCB on domestic cricket structure

A meeting to discuss on the 2003-2004 domestic structure will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday morning. The meeting will be attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, city/district association Presidents, Test cricketers and journalists.
During the meeting, a domestic structure proposed by the Review Committee in its report will also come up for discussion. The Review Committee was constituted to look into the poor performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the World Cup.
PCB's General Manager Cricket Operations, Zakir Khan said: "Since the PCB believes in collective effort, all the concerned authorities associated with domestic cricket have been invited to give their input on how the structure can be improved and made competitive."
"The proposal by the Review Committee is just a suggestion and not a PCB approved document. But it will also come up for discussions.
"I take this opportunity to clarify here that tomorrow's meeting is related to only domestic structure. There seems to be some confusion that the issues of Central Contracts or selectorial matters will also come up for deliberations. However, that is not correct."
The former Test fast bowler further said in the backdrop of suggestions given by the experts, the Cricket Management Committee would prepare the structure for the forthcoming season.
