Lahore, October 6: Pakistan's 2003 World Cup opener against defending
champions Australia has been picked as one of the five high profile
games by the organizers.
According to information provided by the organizers, the match along
with the other four, has been reclassified in the Ticket Window random
draw which opens next week for the total 100,000 tickets still available.
The 1999 World Cup finalists lock horns at the Wanderers in Johannesburg
on Feb 11.
The other four matches are:
Feb 16: New Zealand v South Africa at Wanderers
March 3: South Africa v Sri Lanka at Kingsmead, Durban
March 10: Super 6 match (2nd pool A v Ist pool B) at Wanderers
March 15: Super 6 match (1st pool A v 2nd pool B) at Kingsmead.
The statement from the organizers said: "It was originally announced
that members of the public could apply for up to 50 tickets at each of
these games but, in order to give more people a chance of enjoying
success in the draw, this has now been revised down.
"The remaining 40 matches will be available on application in the Ticket
Window retain their original classification: Grade 1 games (2000 tickets
or fewer available) - a person may apply for a maximum of 4 tickets per
game; Grade 2 games (more than 2000 tickets available) - a person may
apply for a maximum of 50 tickets per game."
