Islamabad, Dec 14: Zahid Mehmood and Jawadul Hassan
were elected as president and secretary respectively
of Islamabad Cricket Association for the interim
period till new elections are held at the end of
on-going scrutiny process.
The general body meeting, requisitioned by voting
members of ICA unanimously elected Zahid and Jawad
for the two posts. It may be added here that the post
of ICA president fell vacant when the then president
Mujeebur Rehman was appointed as chairman Pakistan
Cricket Board ad hoc committee. Later, he dissolved
cricket associations which further delayed anyone
elected as the ICA President. Following restoration
of cricket association, a general body meeting was
requisitioned to fill up the gap for the interim
period. The meeting also elected Qaiser Niazi as the
ICA Treasurer. The newly elected ICA president stated
that the 2nd Milo Cup Cricket Tournament will be
organised from Dec 17 whereas the ICA League would
continue immediately after Eid.
