PAKISTAN v NEW ZEALAND 1984-85

At Lahore, November 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

15-Apr-1986
At Lahore, November 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Pakistan won by six wickets, twenty minutes into the final morning. With Sarfraz Nawaz having announced his retirement soon after the first one-day international, Pakistan went into the first Test with only one opening bowler, Azeem Hafeez: Mudassar used the new ball from the other end. But it was the spinners who stole the limelight, Iqbal Qasim, who was not in the original side and was flown overnight to join the team, finished with match figures of eight for 106. However, New Zealand batted poorly after winning the toss, only Martin Crowe and the wicket-keeper, Smith, putting up much resistance.
