PCB confirms Daryl Foster appointment for World Cup 2003

The meeting between the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt Gen Tauqir Zia and Daryl Foster scheduled for Saturday afternoon couldn not take place as the Australian changed his travel plans because of visa problems.

Daryl Foster was to discuss and give his feedback on the infrastructure, basic requirements and improvements needed for the National Cricket Academy in the background of his experience with the Australian Cricket Academy.

In the meantime, the PCB has clarified reports that it had signed Daryl Foster for six months.

"Mr Daryl Foster, for the time being, has only been engaged as fast bowling consultant for the 2003 ICC World Cup. His feedback for the National Cricket Academy is essential because our Academy has to be on modern and scientific lines. If we have to have a successful future, we require input from Daryl Foster," a spokesman of the PCB said.
