Ramla take giant step towards Final 4; Tel Aviv score first win

Ramla defeated Dimona C in a low-scoring Division 1 game played at Hadar Yosef on Saturday

Ramla defeated Dimona C in a low-scoring Division 1 game played at Hadar Yosef on Saturday, whilst Young Ashdod and Neve Yonatan played out a draw in a derby game in Ashdod. In Division 2, Tel Aviv scored their first win of the season on Friday at Hadar Yosef, defeating Dimona A by 7 wickets.

Jacky Divekar took 5 for 27 as Ramla were dismissed for just 123 against Dimona C. However the Dimona innings was destroyed by Naveen, who took 5 for 21, as the visitors crumbled for just 83 to lose by 40 runs.

Sent into bat, Young Ashdod almost batted out their 45 overs, compiling 243 with Shai Penkar (61), Danny Malyankar (48) and Raymond Aston (46) all amongst the runs. Yaniv Razpurker with 4 for 51 and Shimshon Razpurker with 3 for 41ensured maximum bowling points for Neve Yonatan. With Neve Yonatan left just 35 overs to bat, a draw was always the likely result, and indeed this proved the case as Neve Yonatan finished on 177 for 7.

Tel Aviv proved extremely generous hosts, dishing up 75 extras in a woeful display of bowling against Dimona A, who, despite their hosts generosity, could muster just 131. Tel Aviv knocked off the winning runs with little fuss, losing just 3 wickets in pursuit of their target, with Steve Leigh scoring a quick 29.
