Rohit named in Mumbai squad for first two Vijay Hazare Trophy games

Rohit Sharma has been named in Mumbai's squad for the first two games in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shardul Thakur will lead the side, which includes Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan and Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

There was no Ajinkya Rahane, Yashasvi Jaiswal or Ayush Mhatre, but the squad included several fresh faces. Chinmay Sutar, who played four List A games for India Emerging in 2019, got a call-up, as did fewllo batter Ishan Mulchandani and fast bowler Onkar Tarmale, who was recently picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the IPL auction.

Among familiar faces, there is Siddhesh Lad, wicketkeeper Hardik Tamore and the spin twins Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian.

Mumbai are in Group C. They start their campaign against Sikkim in Jaipur on December 24. Two days later, they will face Uttarakhand.
