Seven wickets for Jacky Divekar in Dimona C win; Be'er Sheva A, Neve Yonatan impress

Be'er Sheva A comforatbly beat Lod by 51 runs, Dimona C defeated Diamonds by 3 wickets and Neve Yonatan eased to a 7 wicket win over Lions Be'er Sheva in Division 2 3rd Round matches played last week.
Be'er Sheva opening batsman Naor Gudker scored 41, but with almost all the other top order batsman failing to reach double figures, falling one after the other to the accurate medium pace of Ravi Khanna (4 for 24) it was left to number nine batsman Yona Malyekar (58*) and number ten batsman Benny Gudker (53*) to launch stubborn resistance for the home team, just when Lod would have thought they had the innings wrapped up. Instead they were left facing the challening target of 235. Only Yossi Satamkar (45) and Avner Waskar (32) could build substantial innings, as the visitors were bowled out for 184.
Diamonds miserbale start to the season continued as basic mistakes such as run outs and dropped catches cost them against Dimona C in Dimona. A total of 93 was never going to be enough, although they may have managed more if not for the run out of top scorer Anis Zaveri (25). Another more significant factor in their demise was Dimona star Jacky Divekar, who returned the brilliant figures of 7 for 26. Six of his wickets were bowled and one LBW.
To their credit, the Diamonds put in a sterling effort to defend their score. Prashant took 5 for 29, and but for Divekar (42*) Dimona C would have been in real trouble.
Three wickets each for Benny Razpurker and Aby Daniels helped Neve Yonatan dismiss Lions Be'er Sheva for 163 in Ashdod. Samson Ashtamkar (43) top scored for the visitors. In reply, Arie Oskar (46) and Daniels (42) set up the win for the hosts, and although both were out to leg spinner Ronen Waskar (2 for 43), Yani Razpurker (24*) sealed victory.
