The Harbax Singh Stadium at Delhi saw Haryana complete a fine nine wicket win over Services in their Ranji One-Day encounter played today. On winning the toss, Haryana skipper Parender Sharma elected to field. Mediumpacer Vineet Jain and left arm spinner Pradeep Jain combined to get rid of the top four batsmen, all bowled, as Services lost wickets at regular intervals. Barring a 32 from SD Nadkarni, the Services batsmen all succumbed meekly and together could muster only 163 before they were all out.
Chasing a small target like 163 was never going to pose any problems for the Haryana team against a comparatively weak side. Opener P Sehrawat helped himself to an unbeaten 103 as Haryana overhauled the total with twelve overs to spare. There was no joy for the Services bowlers as Sehrawat occupied the crease for over two and a half hours. Striking the ball to the fence nine times in his essay, Sehrawat authored an easy nine wicket win.
