Following their back-to-back wins at Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, South Africa have for the first time assumed the position of favourites in the one-day series. Graeme Smith's men are 4/6 to win the fifth one-day international, while England are 11/10.
Marcus Trescothick is favourite to top-score for England, with their man of the moment, Kevin Pietersen, coming a close second. He is 4/1 to top-score for England, alongside the captain, Michael Vaughan. Pietersen is England's top-scorer with 238 runs, although Trescothick is way behind in second place with just 94.
The rest of the England batting line-up will need to make a major contribution - none more so than Andrew Strauss. Following a hugely successful Test series, Strauss has managed just 69 runs from four innings. His time will surely come in this series - he is 9/2 to top-score for England in the fifth ODI, and 12/1 to be Man of the Match. Other than Pietersen, only Vikram Solanki has recorded a fifty so far in the series - he is no means certain to play, but is 9/2 to top-score if he does.
Herschelle Gibbs's fortunes have been transformed since dropping down South Africa's order to No. 4, and successive innings of 78, 50 and 100 are testament to this success. He is 7/2 to top-score again for South Africa, and 9/1 to claim a second successive Man-of-the-Match award. Justin Kemp gave spectators a taste of his potential with his aggressive 57 at Newlands. He is an attractive 8/1 in the Top South Africa batsman market, and 14/1 in the Man-of-the-Match market.
