Sri Lanka 'A' recorded an easy 84-run win over Sri Lanka 'B' in their Triangular Series limited over championship match at the De Soysa Stadium Moratuwa yesterday.

Sri Lanka 'A' 269 for 7 in 50 overs (D. Samaraweera 61, T. M. Dilshan 20, Sajith Fernando 29, Indika de Saram 54, H. Wickremaratne 51, Chamara Silva 23, Indika Gallage 2 for 33, Priyankara Wickremasinghe 2 for 42).

Sri Lanka 'B' 185 for 9 in 50 overs (S. Kalavitigoda 33, Naveed Nawaz 19, Kumara Sangakkara 19, Indika Gallage 17, N. Bandaratileka 28, Dilhara Fernando 21 n.o., Mario Villaverayan 2 for 41, Thilan Samaraweera 2 for 35).

Incumbent president of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Thilanga Sumathipala, faces a test of popularity today at the 51st annual general meeting by Clifford Ratwatte, who is the president of the Nationalised Services Cricket Association (NSCA).

Sumathipala who has served just one year as the head of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, has stated that he is confident of retaining his position and denied allegations of financial discrepancy.

Ratwatte has said that he has no political backing, and his first priority if elected president of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is to clean up the administration and that there will be transparency in whatever he does.

He has also said that he is not going to be like a dictator.

Coloured cricket clothing, white ball and black sight screen will come for the first time in school cricket in the hill capital. St. Sylvester's College take on Vidyartha College, Kandy in their annual limited over clash for the M. B. W. Mediwake trophy to be played at the Asgiriya Stadium today (Sunday March 28) at 9.45 am.

The Sylvestrians who lead in the series and after their fine performance in the Big Match go out favourites to win this match. Sylvestrians led Ranga Dissanayake have some fine hitters in Ranga Dissanayake, Chanaka Wijesinghe, Tilantha Liyanage, Arosha Perera, Zahran Hajireen, Jaliya Weerasinghe and Kelum Konara.

For quick runs Vidyartha will rely on Skipper Sarath Ranaweera, Daminda Ranaweera, K. G. Rangith, Sampath Hewawitharane, Sanjay Hewawitharne, Dasun Jayakoddy, Sanjay Nanayakkara and Harsha Nanayakkara.

Kandy has seen limited over matches played in coloured clothing just twice when Sri Lanka played South Africa and Kenya in the World Cup match.

St. Thomas' bowler Meshad Pieris was not called for throwing in the limited overs encounter against Royal at the SSC grounds last Saturday as stated in the Sunday Observer of March 21, but for over-stepping the popping crease.
