St. Sylvester's College put up a superlative effort to defeat the visiting Karachi Cricket College from Pakistan by eight wickets in a limited over match played at the University Grounds, Peradeniya.

Karachi Cricket College 148 for 9 in 31 overs (R. Malik 65, D. Ziyani 26, A. Anish 17, Ranga Dissanayake 4 for 28, A. Perera 2 for 26).

St. Sylvester's College: 149 for 2 in 19.4 overs (Ranga Dissanayake 73, Arosha Perera 21, Chanaka Wijesinghe 31 not out).

Deadly bowling by Vidyartha left arm spinner Sarath Ranaweera who captured a match bag of 11 for 107 (8 for 45 and 3 for 62) was the highlight of the Elephant Lemonade Cup inter school cricket match against Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa which ended in a draw at Sir Albert Pieris Stadium, Nattandiya.

Joseph Vaz 115 (S. Cooray 22, J. Perera 35, D. Subasinghe 25, S. Ranaweera 8 for 45, G. Jayakody 2 for 27) and 169 for 6 (S. Cooray 63, I. Fernando 41, S. Ranaweera 3 for 62, D. Jayakody 2 for 35).

Vidyartha 187 for 8 decl (K. G. Ranjith 52, D. K. Ranaweera 68, S. Andrado 2 for 35, S. Cooray 5 for 40).

S. Thomas' Matara scored a stunning seven wicket win over St. Sebastian's College in their Elephant Lemonade Cup inter-school cricket tournament match concluded at Matara, yesterday.

St. Sebastian's 142 (P. Nuwan 27, P. Suranga 22, G. Lankatilleke 6 for 48, C. Komasaru 3 for 16) and 151 (B. Nabsha 55, A. Malintha 20, A. Farook 5 for 34).

S. Thomas' Matara 273 (S. Sameera 66, A. Farook 40, G. Lankatilleke 37, I. Lokuge 20, H. S. Jayawardena 21, K. Suranga 4 for 26, D. Yohan 3 for 46) and 21 for 3.

Half centuries from M. Fernando (71) and K. Rodrigo (52) helped Isipatana College compile a modest first innings total of 208 runs on the opening day of the Elephant Lemonade Cup inter-school cricket tournament match against St. Aloysius College Galle which began at Colts grounds, Havelock Park yesterday.
