SSC LEAD IN SARA TROPHY STANDINGS
Sinhalese Sports Club takes a close lead in the latest points
table of the Sara Trophy div. 1 tournament conducted by the
Cricket Board. With just one outright win and four first innings
wins in five outings SSC managed to get 56.2 points and occupy
the top spot though Galle CC and Sebastianites have two
outright wins each. In the second place is Galle CC (53.4 points)
followed by Bloomfield (53.2), CCC (45.8) and Sebastianites
(45.6).
CRICKET BOARD LIMITED OVER TOURNEY PRE-QUARTERS ON DECEMBER 23
The pre-quarter-finals of the division 1 and 11 fifty overs
cricket tournament conducted by the Cricket Board, will be worked
off on Saturday (23). The eight `pre-quarters` will be played at
CCC grounds, NCC grounds,Colts grounds, Sara Stadium,BRC
grounds,Moors grounds, Reid Avenue and at Tyronne Fernando Stadium. The quarter- finals will be worked off at the Sara Stadium, and NCC, CCC and Colts grounds on December 24. The
semi-finals are scheduled for December 30 at the NCC and Bloomfield grounds and the final on December 31 at SSC grounds.
KANDY CC TAKE COMMANDING LEAD IN SARA TROPHY SEGMENT `B` POINTS

Kandy Cricket Club take a close lead in the latest points
table of the Sara Trophy division 1 Segment `B` tournament conducted by the Cricket Board. Kandy CC have won four matches
outright in five outings to gain a commanding aggregate of 77.2
points. In the second place is Old Cambrians (48.8), followed by
Matara SC (45.4) and Kurunegala SC (45.1).
SLSCA TAKE HONOURS IN DRAWN GAME
The Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association President`s XI took
major honours in their three-day fixture against the visiting
Sussex under-20 side which ended in a draw at the Moratuwa Stadium on Wednesday.
The home side went on to compile 267 for 6 in their second innings while setting the opposition a victory target of 239 runs
from 73 overs.
But Sussex collapsed to 164 for 7 with Nimesh Perera claiming
five wickets. He finished with a matchbag of 9 wickets.
Earlier Mahela Jayawardena went on to hit a superb 104 that
included three sixes and thirteen boundaries.He also added 84
runs for the third wicket with Anoushka Polonowita. Chief
