The State Auckland Aces squad for the State Championship has today been named by State Auckland Aces coach and convener of selectors, Tony Sail.
The squad contains seven players with previous experience for the CLEAR Black Caps including Andre Adams, Chris Drum, Mark Haslam, Matt Horne, Llorne Howell, Kyle Mills and Brooke Walker.
Nick Horsley, Sam Whiteman and Reece Young, Auckland Cricket's representatives to the New Zealand Cricket Academy for 2001, and New Zealand Cricket's Young Player to Lords for 2001, Rob Nicol, are also included.
Not considered for selection were Adam Parore, Mark Richardson and Lou Vincent on duty with the CLEAR Black Caps in Australia, and Dion Nash due to injury.
The State Championship four-day competition will be played over ten rounds commencing in late November and concluding in late March 2002. In the first round, the State Auckland Aces will host the State Central Stags on the Eden Park Number two ground commencing Monday 26 November.
