State Auckland Aces team named for State Max tournament

The State Auckland Aces team to contest the NZC State Max tournament at the North Harbour Stadium this weekend has this evening been named by State Auckland Aces coach and convener of selectors, Tony Sail.

The team which will play current Max champions, the State Wellington Firebirds on Saturday at 2.00pm for direct entry to Sunday's State Max Final, will be captained by Grafton United player and former CLEAR Black Cap, Matt Horne. The team comprises ten players with Max cricket experience including Cornwall bowler, Richard Morgan, the standout performer for the State Auckland Aces in last season's Max qualifying series.

"The team are really looking forward to their first major challenge of the domestic season. After finishing runners up to the State Wellington Firebirds in successive seasons, there is a firm resolve to start the State Series on a winning note", said Sail.
