Statement issued by ICC Match Referee

"At the outset I asked for and expected a good-natured series. That is exactly what has transpired so far.

Yesterday there was an incident involving a collision between two players in the race. That incident I have looked into thoroughly and at length. Stuart MacGill regrets this collision, which he did not intend. However, he has accepted responsibility for the accident and has apologised warmly to Ramnaresh Sarwan - this apology has been equally warmly accepted.

The captains, players and management of Australia and the West Indies are determined that the good relationship between the two teams should carry on as before.

Having completed my enquiry into the incident I am satisfied that the two teams have sorted it out amicably but I have warned Stuart MacGill that he should be most careful in future."
