Dale Steyn destroyed the Warriors with the first ten-wicket haul of his career, to hand the Titans a crushing innings-and-78-run victory at Benoni. Ably supported by Albie Morkel (2 for 46), Steyn ran through the Warriors' line-up, taking 5 for 27 to dismiss the Warriors for just 105. Arno Jacobs top-scored with 26, but there was nothing of substance from his team-mates.
Three wickets for Vernon Philander and Monde Zondeki led the Cape Cobras to an emphatic 10-wicket victory over the Eagles at Stellenbosch. The Eagles lost Jonathan Beukes, who had played solidly for his 46, and despite a valiant unbeaten knock of 42 from Morne van Wyk, the Eagles were blown away for just 183. Philander conceded just 23 from his 14 overs, while there was good support from Rory Kleinveldt (2 for 44). The Cape Cobras needed just nine balls to wrap up a comprehensive win.
Friedel de Wet took 5 for 80 for the Lions to limit the Dolphins on the third day at Johannesburg. De Wet trapped Ahmed Amla leg before in the first over of the day, and thereafter the Dolphins collapsed from 238 for 5 to 266 all out. The Dolphins struck back strongly, however, dismissing Stephen Cook for a duck, Alviro Petersen (4) and Neil McKenzie (0) to leave the Lions struggling on 5 for 3. But brisk fifties from Justin Ontong (68) and Enoch Nkwe who fell one short of his second first-class century. When bad light stopped play, the Lions led by 252 runs.
