LAHORE, March 26: The Indian High Commissioner has set up a temporary
visa sub-office at the Gaddafi Stadium to issue visas for cricket
fans interesting to watch the one-day cricket match between Pakistan
ad India to be held under floodlights at Mohali (Chandigarh) on
April 1.
The sale of 1000 tickets - each ticket of Rs 1200, allotted to the
Pakistani spectators, will begin at the Gaddafi Stadium from March 27
(Saturday).
The visa will only be issued to the ticket-holders.
The interesting cricket fans are advised to bring with them
photocopies of the first two pages of their passport for the purchase
of the tickets and four photographs for the purpose of visa. The
tickets are non-refundable. The visa will be valid for only
three-days.
To facilitate their travel between international border at Wagah and
Chandigarh a special train will be run on March 31 afternoon leaving
Attari Railway Station at 3 p.m and reaching Chandigarh same evening
at 9 p.m. The one-way train fare is fixed for ordinary class at Rs
150 and special class at Rs 1000.
The visitors are to reach at the Wagah border by road under their own
arrangements from where they will be transported to Attari Railways
Station by bus.
The Indian cricket authorities at Chandigarh have earmarked
accommodation in hotels as well as cheap dormitory-type accommodation
for the cricket enthusiasts from Pakistan.
A police reporting facility for Pakistani spectators will also be
available at the stadium.
