The Netherlands not to be taken lightly

Complacency could be South Africa's biggest danger tomorrow when they take on the Netherlands at Hagley Oval on the sixth day of the CricInfo Women's World Cup.
Favoured to challenge for a semi-final place, the South Africans are coming off a morale-boosting win over England after stumbling against India in their first match. They had top-order difficulties on both occasions but would not expect any trouble in this match, the Netherlands having suffered heavy defeats in their first games, against Australia and India.
However, the underdogs batted right through their 50 overs in both matches. Those efforts were admirable given that injuries to their three specialist openers have limited the Netherlands' opportunity to add some attacking potency to their demonstrated defensive capabilities. Team management was still assessing tonight whether any of the trio would be fit for the team's third match.
South Africa will be looking to win the toss and give their top order the opportunity to gain some form. For the Netherlands, like a number of the second tier teams, it is part of the learning curve. However, if the South African top order remains fragile and the Netherlands batting strength is boosted, the match could be closer than the South Africans would like.
