Wasim Akram in his Times of India column: "I think the ICC should ... get into preparing Test pitches all over the world, or start deducting points that will affect a team's ranking. Till then we will keep getting these akharas (wrestling pits) like the one in Jamtha, where the ball hardly comes on to the bat."
Jacques Kallis in his Hindu column: "Ask a spinner whether he would prefer to bowl on a decent pitch with 400+ runs on the board, or on a dry turner with just 200 on the board where he has to worry about every run, and I think most will take the first option."
