Wasim expected to return on Wednesday

Karachi, July 26: Suspended Pakistan captain Wasim Akram is expected to return to Pakistan on Wednesday, family sources said. Akram's wife, Huma, told Dawn from Manchester that Wasim was trying to get the first available flight to Pakistan.

"He is in London at the moment trying to get a flight. But he plans to reach Pakistan on Wednesday," she said.

Huma further added that Akram was in constant contact with ad hoc committee chairman Mujeebur Rahman "and he was going to Pakistan on his request.

"The chairman told him (Wasim Akram) that he was interested in hearing his side of the story and extend as much help as possible," Huma said.

However, she was unaware of her husband's suspension by the ad hoc committee. "I don't know about this," she remarked.
