Western Warriors fast bowler Brad Williams' injury-riddled start to season 2000-2001 has continued with a specialist today instructing him to undergo surgery on his right elbow.
Williams, who has struggled with back, hamstring and groin trouble already this season, will have minor surgery on Saturday and will now miss the tour match against the West Indies starting at the WACA Ground tomorrow.
He will be out of action for at least a fortnight and will also be sidelined for WA's Mercantile Mutual Cup clashes with Queensland and Tasmania, along with the Pura Cup clash against Tasmania later this month.
Fast-bowler Steve Nikitaras has replaced Williams in the WA side to play the West Indies.
