The cricket provinces arranged great activities to keep the Bakers Mini Cricket coaches hard at work during the winter months.
Included in the lineup were the regional seminars that were held nationally. The seminars get all the hard working coaches and parents together to discuss provincial matters.
Khaya Majola, Director of Amateur Cricket for the United Cricket Board of South Africa said, "Over the past 18 years Bakers Mini Cricket has built up a solid administrative infrastructure in all provinces and the regional seminars are used to sustain this solid base.
"The United Cricket Board relies on all Bakers Mini Cricket committees to keep the ball rolling in each of their provinces and the seminars are used as a communication tool for committees, cricket provincial associations as well as the UCBSA.
"The feedback and discussions held at the seminar help the coaches and administrators to run the Bakers Mini Cricket programme, which we believe helps make this programme such a success."
Deon Rutgers, Sports Sponsorship Officer for Bakers Biscuits told Bakers Cricket News, "We as sponsors feel that communication is essential to making Bakers Mini Cricket work for the coaches as well as the children.
"The coaches that graduate from the Bakers Coaches Academy are our lifeline to the children and it is therefore important to receive their input when implementing this fantastic programme. These seminars are vital to the continued flow of information from grassroots level where Bakers Mini Cricket is playing such a huge role in the development of cricket in South Africa."
"As part of the communication plan we have also included a National Bakers Mini Cricket seminar which will see representatives from all provinces join forces at one seminar to exchange information. It will be used as a tool for team building, cross pollination of ideas and a communication link between Bakers Biscuits, the UCBSA and all provinces."
