Zimbabwe lost both openers for ducks, and were 49-7 before a decisive partnership of 104 between Hamilton Masakadza, who faced 138 balls, and Graeme Cremer, who hit a maiden international half-century in his 75th innings. Afghanistan were also 0-2, but there was no recovery as they slipped to their lowest ODI total, undercutting 63 against Scotland at Abu Dhabi in 2014-15. Only Shahzad, who biffed 31 in 22 balls, reached double figures. Once he was out, making it 39-4, just 19 more were added, with medium-pacer Luke Jongwe collecting 5.1-1-6-5.
