Sri Lanka v West Indies, 2015-16
Wisden's review of the first Twenty20 International Sri Lanka v West Indies, 2015-16
Sri Lanka shot along at more than ten an over, and passed 200 for the first time in a home Twenty20 international. Perera and Dilshan put on 91 in 9.4, Shehan Jayasuriya chipped in, and Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews kept swinging. In all, 84 came from the last five. West Indies lost Charles to Malinga's second delivery, but Fletcher clobbered six sixes to keep his side in the hunt. Russell faced only eight balls but muscled two of them over the boundary, and West Indies sniffed a chance when Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard - restored to the side for the shortest format - put on 51. But both fell in the space of four balls, before the dangerous pair of Darren Sammy and Holder succumbed to successive deliveries from Sachithra Senanayake.
