SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan, Nov 21 (AFP) - Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell Saturday vowed a spirited fight to level the series after losing his team first one-day international against Pakistan.
The teams meet in the second match here on Sunday after Pakistan won the opening contest at Gujranwala by four wickets on Friday.
"We spoiled our good initial work and had we scored 270 plus we would have won - but this time we will double our efforts," Campbell said.
The skipper is suffering from a stomach upset but hopes to be fit to play.
Pakistan were relieved after their first one-day win in the current home season. They lost all three limited-overs games against Australia earlier this month and their only match of the ICC Mini World Cup against West Indies in October.
"I always look for consistency in a team's performance and the boys need time. Once they are set the team will perform consistently," Pakistan coach Javed Miandad said.
The third and final one-day match will be played in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
Pakistan and Zimbabwe will later play a three-match Test series. The first Test begins in Peshawar on November 27. Others follow in Lahore and Faisalabad.
