Correct, his aim was to score 50 and was not worried about his strike rate. Now he his guaranteed of a place for next 2 matches.

Did I read it correct "Dhawan found form" ?? On a flat deck like this one, where chasing 300 is as easy as it gets, scoring 50 odd at a strike rate of ~70 is criminal. And after all of those dot balls you get out after slowing the teams runrate. The innings from dhawan did exactly what the Australians would have wanted. Those missing 30 runs that MSD was asking for.

Don't understand why MSD has so much faith in him after so many failures. Manish Pandey should not be dropped without giving even a single proper innings.

Yes, dhawan did find form. With 54 dot balls, a few streaky boundaries and an overall unconvincing laboured innings, his fluke knock did further the teams (aussie) cause.
