The world cup format was "bloated" *not* because of the number of matches but because of the large ratio of pointless (strong team vs minnows) matches to interesting ones. The 2015 world cup will maximize enjoyment and minimize time waste by attacking this real cause of "bloatedness". It is proposed to be a full round robin between all 10 test playing nations, and so the number of matches will continue to be large but the percentage of worthless/predictable matches (only those involving Zim and Ban) will reduce drastically. As for the associates, I do feel sorry, but frankly, except for a couple of matches by Ireland, all the matches involving minnows were predictable and boring.
