Ramnaresh Sarwan's good batting in the recently completed ODI series against Zimbabwe propelled him to the top ten in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batsmen. Sarwan, who was the leading run scorer in the series with 254 runs, including three half-centuries, moved up four places to No.9, displacing Rahul Dravid to the tenth spot.
Chris Gayle is the other West Indian to make good strides in the rankings, moving up by three notches to No.14 in the batting list. Gayle, who scored an undefeated whirlwind 95 in the day-night encounter at St Lucia, aggregated 192 runs in the series and also picked up six wickets. His allround show moved him up the allrounders list to No.4, behind Irfan Pathan.
However, West Indies' 5-0 series win wasn't enough to improve their team ranking, as they remain at No.8, well clear of England, who are ahead by 12 points.
The batting list is topped by Australia's Adam Gilchrist, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni of India in second position. The bowlers' list remains unchanged, with Shaun Pollock on top. Pollock heads the allrounders' list as well.
